PAL is used in South America, most

PAL is used in South America, most of the Asian and African countries and Europe.

The alternative form
Use of video tapes is on the decline today due to use of DVD, the newer version of home entertainment component. However, DVDs suffer from the same problems of region and standard compatibility. The DVD version of the video converting VCR is a region-free DVD, also known as code-free DVD player that can play any CD of any standard on a non-compatible device, by converting the non-standard signals into the compatible ones. A DVD obtained in France will have SECAM format whereas one obtained in UK will have PAL, and both can be played on a NTSC TV, provided that it is multipurpose, with a region free DVD player. Prices of such region free DVD players vary with brand and their specifications.

The price tag
A separate video converter coming from any of the leading companies like Hitachi, Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic, or Sharp will cost somewhere around $350. But the services provided by a branded item are mostly better than cheap non-branded versions. But the competitive commercial market today has forced many of companies to come up with models with competitive prices within the range of $100.

HIP PEOPLE, CHIC SETTING, FOOD ARE WORTH REPEAT TRIPS TO ECHO

HIP PEOPLE, CHIC SETTING, FOOD ARE WORTH REPEAT TRIPS TO ECHO

0 Comments | Palm Beach Post, Apr 22, 2010

MENU

There's an enticing selection of sushi and sashimi. They also have tempting, if slightly predictable, appetizers dressed up with elegant bits and pieces. If you're not feeling the raw fish vibe, you can easily get lost in Peking duck, drunken chicken or Mongolian beef. There's a great array of cooked seafood and pad Thai -- and leave some room for dessert.

ATMOSPHERE

So hip and cool you'll be triple-checking your outfit. From the decor to the table setting to the pretty people, this place exudes chic.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

It's a toss-up between the Echo roll ($12), an absolutely delicious roll with tempura shrimp, cucumber, avocado and red tobiko in a sesame soy sheet with sriacha sauce, or the lobster Rangoon, filled with mascarpone cheese and a chili mango sauce ($13). If I were hard pressed, I'd probably give it to the lobster Rangoon because the chili mango sauce was so delicious.

REASON TO GO

The atmosphere! No, the presentation. Wait, I mean the dessert. No, I'm wrong

PING Supports Innovation With Compellent Fluid Data Storage

PING Supports Innovation With Compellent Fluid Data Storage

Market Wire, July, 2010

PING 's innovation has been setting the industry standard in the world of golf for more than 50 years, and the company undertook an initiative designed to perfect its approach to delivering custom-fit performance to players. The volume of PING's corporate data, from back-office information to engineering design, was growing rapidly, and the legacy storage solution couldn't efficiently scale to meet increased demand. To support this rapid influx of data from the custom orders, PING required a fluid storage environment with the same dedication to innovation as its own.

Eric Hart, end-user computing manager for PING, chose Fluid Data storage from Compellent to enable the company to adapt to changing needs and manage unpredictable, but dramatic, data growth. Compellent Fluid Data storage features are all fully integrated, enabling PING's IT staff to spend less time managing storage and focus on supporting the company's innovation.

"Our customers demand the best, and we needed to support the efforts to streamline engineering lifecycles and shorten time to market when redesigning products so we can stay ahead of the competition," said Hart. "The combination of automated tiered storage and virtualization gave us the foundation we needed for our overall initiative. Compellent Fluid Data storage allows us to continue our tradition of excellence and seamlessly scale in the face of unpredictable data growth."

One storage management application in particular -- automated tiered storage -- had an immediate impact on PING's business. According to Hart, PING realized that sorting through and classifying the data using a manual process would mean months of work for the entire company. Compellent's patented automated tiered storage technology classifies PING's data based on actual use patterns without requiring administrative effort. A powerful block-level data movement and management engine uses that intelligence to dynamically migrate 55 percent of PING's historical and infrequently accessed data from Fibre Channel drives to low-cost SATA drives

Review / Pittsburgh Tribune – Review – Officials rule out natural gas as explosion's cause

Officials rule out natural gas as explosion's cause

0 Comments | Tribune - Review / Pittsburgh Tribune - Review, Apr 12, 2008 | by Jill King Greenwood

Carmen Zambrano was driving in the North Side when an explosion shook his tow truck Friday morning.

"I seriously thought it was an earthquake," Zambrano said. "Debris, smoke and fire were flying through the air. It scared me to death."

Zambrano was about a block away when a house on Lovitt Way exploded, leveling a neighboring one, damaging 24 others and blowing out the windows of homes up to a half-mile away. Inspectors trying to determine the cause said they found no evidence of a natural gas leak at the site near the Parkway North.

No injuries were reported and Pittsburgh Public Safety Chief Michael Huss said officials hadn't determined whether the explosion started in a vacant house at 847 Lovitt Way or in 845 Lovitt Way, which was occupied until a few months ago when the elderly owner moved to a nursing home.

Neighbors said they had seen vagrants and squatters coming and going from the vacant house and using it as a drug hideout, but Huss said officials had no indication that is true. He said authorities would investigate all possible causes for the blast -- including a methamphetamine lab explosion.

"We're searching for anyone in there because we have to be sure," Huss said.

The house at 847 Lovitt Way was condemned and bought by the city in 2004, Allegheny County property records show. Gas service was shut off at least two years ago, said Equitable Gas spokesman David Spigelmyer.

He said crews from the company shut down natural gas service to the surrounding neighborhood but were unable to find "any odor or leakage of natural gas in the area that might have lead to the explosion."

Crews used heavy equipment to remove debris from the 30-foot- high pile that remained after the blast.

A third Lovitt Way house was heavily damaged and leaning. Jean McCoy said she has lived there with her adult daughter for three years. She said officials told her the house likely will need to be torn down.

"I just hope I can get in there and salvage a few things," said McCoy, 52, who was allowed a brief look inside before being ushered out for safety reasons. "It's pretty bad in there. My kitchen is on the other side of the house from where it's supposed to be. Everything is gone. Everything."

Officials did not evacuate the neighborhood, but onlookers were kept away from some buildings as damaged windows continued to fall to the street

Kate wins in a Blaze of glory

Kate wins in a Blaze of glory

0 Comments | Cornish Guardian; Truro (UK), Jul 28, 2010 | by Kathryn Pearn

KATE Burley and Carnkief Toyboy went right through the card at the Scorrier and Chacewater Show securing the open best combination, riding horse and working hunter championships for the Diana Szutowicz memorial trophy.

This beautifully turned out partnership clearly impressed the judges Jane Fisher and Alison Tate who were unanimous in their assessment.

Kate, who lives at Threemilestone and is in her final year of training at Treliske Hospital as a pharmacy technician, said: "I''m so lucky to have a horse like Blaze (Carnkief Toyboy).

"I have to juggle riding and competing around my work but Blaze is a great all-rounder and has a go at anything.

"I've had to regularly travel up to Taunton College over the past two years as part of my training. Time can be quite tight but Blaze is a joy to look after and I wouldn''t be without him."

Kate bought the ten-year-old Irish Draft x Thorougbred son of Limited Edition five years ago from Graham Laity, who lives in Goonhavern.

She said: "We still have weekly lessons with Graham who is extremely supportive. This season we've concentrated on our show jumping with a view to contesting the working hunter classes. I'm very pleased with the way we've been going and for our hard work to be rewarded with these good results."

Carnkeif Toyboy is at livery with Fran and James Stewart of Blackwater.

Kate said: "I'd like to thank Fran and Stewart for helping me care for Blaze and my parents (Nigel and Christine) for taking me to the shows.

"Without their continued support none of this would be possible."

A prophet is

A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

What is their reward then?

Lets read; 1Co 9:18-23.

What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge ( Giving Freely what he has received freely.), that I abuse not my power in the gospel ( Taking no thought for power, as not being lord over his flock but as an example to them.).
For though I be free from all men ( as in the flesh.), yet have I made myself servant unto all ( within his spirit.), that I might gain the more.

And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

Setting up a quality childcare is

Setting up a quality childcare is only part of what?s needed to have a successful
program. You also need to let parents know about your business. Since most
home-based childcare providers do not have a lot of money to spend on
advertising, a little creativity can help you reach parents who are looking for care.

Networking is a strong tool. Make sure that everybody you know knows that you
provide childcare. That way, if they hear of a parent looking for care, they can refer
that parent to you. Add your business name and current openings to your voicemail
or answering machine message. Parents looking for childcare will know instantly
whether you have openings for the age(s) they need. Announce current openings to
parents who currently have childcare in your care.
